Andrea F. Composto, Esq. is a partner at the Law Offices of Composto & Composto together with her father, Frank A. Composto, Esq. The firm was founded in 1932 by Andrea’s grandfather, the late Honorable Frank Composto, making Andrea the third generation of members at the firm. The Law Offices of Composto & Composto is a General Practice Law Firm located in Brooklyn Heights, concentrating in all areas of Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Commercial Law, Contracts, Real Estate, Wills and Probate Administration.
Andrea is a graduate of Le Moyne College (1996) where in she received her Bachelors of Arts in Political Science with a Minor in Theater Arts. She received her J.D. from Albany Law School in 2002 as well as being a recipient of the Friedman Prize for Academic Excellence in Family Law. Andrea was admitted to the New York State Bar, 2nd Judicial District on June 11, 2003 and to the United States District Court, Eastern and Southern Districts of the Federal Court in July 2003. In 2006, Andrea was admitted to the United States Supreme Court.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Andrea worked for the New York State Legislature. In 1997, Andrea was employed by Senator Philip M. Boyle, then Assemblyman, as his Chief of Staff. In 1998, Andrea became Constituent Supervisor to Assemblyman James N. Tedisco. In 1999, Andrea gained employment as a Confidential Assistant to Governor George E. Pataki under the direction of James Natoli, the Director of State Operations.
Andrea is very active in her legal community. She is the Immediate Past President of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (WBASNY). On May 16, 2015 Andrea was installed as President of WBASNY; wherein she formed WBASNY’s first LGBT State Committee. WBASNY is one of three statewide bar associations and the only bar association that promotes the advancement of the status of women in society and of women in the legal profession and to promote the fair and equal administration of and access to justice for all people. She began her involvement with WBASNY in 2010, when she became an Officer holding the position of Recording Secretary. Since then Andrea has held the Officer positions of Corresponding Secretary Vice President, President-Elect and President. Andrea has served in an officer capacity for the Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association (BWBA) holding positions of Recording Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President. She has chaired numerous chapter committees and has been a member of the BWBA since 2003. Andrea is also a member of the Rockland County Women’s Bar Association (RCWBA) since 2008. She is also a member, past Diversity Director and Member of the Board of the Rockland County Bar Association as well as a member of Lambda Legal and LeGal.
In addition to her contributions in her legal community, Andrea is a Founding Member of the Rockland County Pride Center, Inc. as well as a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of their Legal Committee. She has volunteered for her collegiate Alma Mater in student recruitment, alumni outreach and for Le Moyne College’s C.A.R.E. Program (Creating Awareness, Respect and Equality) as an alumni mentor to LGBT Students. In her ‘spare time’ Andrea enjoys working in her garden and attending the theatre. She lives in Nyack, New York with her wife, Beth E. Brown.
